Drove here from Oak Park, arrived 20 mins before closing and were turned away. What kind of place turns away customers while still open??

I had a 3 egg omelet with asparagus and smoked salmon. It came with hash browns and biscuits and gravy. Very tasty. The cafe is very clean, the washrooms were clean. The waitress was very attentive and on top of her game. For a little cafe in a strip mall it was a pleasant surprise. I needed a meal and a place to check my email. If you visit you won't go home hungry or disappointed.

Hidden Gem. Homemade soup daily. Reasonable prices. The owner is cooking in the kitchen usually and comes out always to check on his guests which I respect it makes me feel good to know that he cares. The food is tasty and the prices are extremely reasonable for a breakfast restaurant. The only bad part is that their hidden so not too many people know exactly where it is.

I really wanted to like this place as it was a modern version of a Ma and Pop's. People were really nice but the food not so much... I ordered the Iris skillet. The corned beef and onions were good but the potatoes underneath had to be hours old and the pancakes were from a box. Disappointing...

Tipical american diner that serves a great great great amount of food at a great great great price. The food was OK but nothing out if this world (apart from quantity, which was a lot); very home-made style and flavor. The restaurant seemed clean, but I didn't reach farther than my own table, because we were in a rush. Service could improve a lot; our server was a non so friendly lady, who, lets say... Didn't smile a lot. We ordered OJ, because acording to the price, we expected fresly squeezed... It wasn't but a pasteurized supermarket one. That was the only really disappointing fact. I would highly recomendo their breakfast if you are on the road and want to grab something good, fastband cheap.

I have been here a few times and it's alway perfect. Go hungry because the portions are huge. The owner and staff are great. Always available and so friendly.

Not a fancy place at all but the eggs and great hash Browns was hot fresh and good. Not busy but the quality of food it should be. Better than Lumes just old fashion good hot fresh food not fancy. Son bad the 3 egg Denver very good. Only problem was the pancakes were dry according to son number 2. I hope they get busier I want to make this my go Ho for just good eggs and fresh.

This cafe is a hidden gem right in Homer Glen. They are under new management and I can already see the difference. They have expanded their menu dramatically. They're now open till 8:00pm and serve some of the best deli sandwiches I've ever had. Their pastrami and corned beef sandwiches are delicious, I couldn't believe that I actually was able to finish the huge sandwich they served then I ordered one to take home for a midnight snack (ya, that's how I roll). They're staff is sooo nice and make you feel at home. I'm making this my new breakfast/brunch place to come to from now on.

I had an omelet with American cheese, mushrooms, pastrami, and corned beef! It looked and tasted delicious! My sister had the Irish skillet and said it was the best breakfast she had ever ate! My brother is very picky and so he had hot dogs and ate both happily! Everyone was happy!

Solidly caffeinated with bottomless cup of coffee stuff. Juan Valdez would give it two beans. The meal was tasty and generous, and they serve REAL bacon. The test was the eggs, one order was hard scrambled, the other was two over easy and both were cooked to perfection. You would be scared at how many places fail the egg test, Homer's passed with flying colors. Yay! You shouldn't wait for an odyssey to Homer's for breakfast and brunch.

I would totally recommend this little nook to anyone who is looking for a wonderful fresh breakfast/brunch. The service was fantastic and the food was amazing. You could feed a army with the quantity of food. Everyone their is so nice and friendly. I definitely will be back.

Simple place, not for fancy pants people expecting posh atmosphere. Banquet chairs and standard brown tables and tile floors. None of this bothers me, it's only the food, service and price that I care about at a little place like this. All were great. The owner who seems very friendly and cheerful was pleasant to deal with, he was also our server. We tried the omelets, pancakes, hash browns and biscuits and gravy. The only downside was the RC cola, (diet Rite). Price was worth it. Try this place, you'll be surprised.

Not sure why people think this is worth 4 stars. It was Ok. That's it. Defiantly not a $9.75 skillet. Service was good but we were the only people in there. Fiesta omelette very dry and the cubed potatoes are deep fried short French fries. Live and learn. Cost the same as Blueberry Hill and no where near the quality. Sorry

The place is welcoming and clean. The staff and service was comfy, friendly, and fast. The waiter was helpful and patient. The menu had all breakfast foods you would expect and lunch. Great priced specials, i.e. Any skillet with eggs and biscuits and gravy for $9.25. The portions were large and filling. Overall this place is great for large groups or just two. Everything is at the Homer's Cafe that is looked for in a community breakfast place.

This place is great! I'm not sure where to start because our entire experience was completely positive. First, I really like that this place is no frills. It's just good good with good service. The decor is very simple and basic. It kind of reminds me of something simple you'd find in a small vacation town. Even though it's just basic brown chairs and tables it is very clean. The cafe is small but has a good amount of seating and tables. The coffee was great and so was the food. I had the Irish Skillet with Pancakes. Delicious. I really liked that it's actual corned beef and not canned corned beef hash. My pancakes were moist. The kids had Mickey Pancakes. Loved them and gobbled them up. Did they make a mess? A little, but that was ok. The server was understanding and the floors are tile. This is definitely a hidden gem in Homer Glen... Not the first thing people think of but definitely worth the time. I can't wait to try their lunch... And they also deliver... Which we will also be trying very soon!

GT's. It's your good old fashion greasy spoon. The food is tasty and the prices are fair. I do prefer a little more kitsch to my diners but then again it does say cafe what are you going to do. Eat here, you won't hate it.

Homer's and my family got off to a rocky start when they first opened. I guess I could have lived with the little annoyances that cropped up during our three vists, because I wanted to see the small business owner succeed in a world of chains, or bigger places. It was just one thing after another, though, and the family members said no more. On Christmas Day, 2011, I decided to stop in when I saw they were open. At the time they were about half filled. I was seated promptly, given time to make a decision and my breakfast was served quickly, and I was in no hurry. Things couldn't have gone better. The ham with cheese omelette was hot and tasty, the hash browns were cooked and warm thru out and the service was friendly and attentive. So I went back on New Years Day and received the same treatment and another good meal. Since things were a bit slow that early, my server approached and we had a short conversation about reading material. I know some diners don't care to know or be spoken to by their server. I don't understand that. It's nice to know that I no longer have to drive 27 miles to Aunt Sally's in Calumet City or up to Ogden Avenue in Westmont to the Moondance Diner for a righteous breakfast. Homer's does things just fine.

Excellent service - great food - friendly relaxing environment. What 's not to like. I had the garden skillet. My husband had a ham & cheese omelette. We both enjoyed our meals. I'll go back to try their blintz.

Excellent hashbrowns, wonderful pigs-in-a-blanket, great coffee. My 13 year old would have dropped half a star for lack of coke, but that's not worth a whole star. Highly recommended breakfast-for-lunch place.

I love this place for breakfast! Friendly staff. Surprisingly varied menu for the genre. Attentive service. Good neighborhood joint.
